The Mabton Fire Department is an all volunteer department that responds to just over 100 calls per year.  We currently have 9 volunteers who give of their time, talents, and training to serve the residents and neighbors of Mabton. These same volunteers also serve the surrounding county area as volunteers with Yakima County Fire District #5.

Chief Luke Cussins has been the chief of the Mabton Fire Department since 2006.Chief Cussins started as a volunteer firefighter in 1991 before leaving Mabton for the Spokane Fire Department in 1992.He I moved back to Mabton in 1998 and rejoined as a volunteer firefighter. Cussins became a Captain in 2001 when John Comstock retired and then took over for the retiring Bill Roettger and Fire Chief.

Regular meetings are held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursday evenings each month at 7:00 PM at the Fire Station. The official City fire drill is on the 2nd
Thursday and the 1st and 3rd Thursdays are the County drill nights.
